Often referred to as “PPF,” XPEL Self-Healing Paint Protection Film is perfect for protecting high impact areas, or even doing full coverage car wraps . Keep your paint safe from chips, scratches, and road debris with glossy ULTIMATE PLUS™ or satin finish STEALTH™
Paint Protection Film (PPF) has its origins in the 1960s during the Vietnam War, when it was developed by 3M in collaboration with the U.S. military. Originally designed to protect helicopter rotor blades and sensitive equipment from damage caused by debris and shrapnel, this durable, clear urethane film, known as “helicopter tape,” was engineered to withstand the harshest conditions. Over the years, this technology evolved for commercial use and became a staple in the automotive industry, providing an advanced solution to protect vehicle paintwork from scratches, chips, and environmental damage. Today, PPF is a trusted choice for preserving the look and value of vehicles.
Xpel paint protection film offers unmatched durability and clarity, setting a new standard in the industry. Designed with a low surface energy, the film’s advanced clear coat resists contaminants that can cause staining or yellowing in traditional films. Featuring elastomeric polymers, it self-heals over time, eliminating fine scratches and swirl marks naturally. Backed by a comprehensive 10-year parts and labor warranty against cracking, peeling, staining, and hazing, this film represents a groundbreaking advancement in paint protection technology.
Protection
Xpel PPF shields your vehicle’s paintwork from chips, minor scuffs, scrapes, and environmental factors like bug splatter. It also safeguards the finish from defects caused by improper washing techniques.
Enhancement
With superior optical clarity, PPF enhances the depth and shine of your vehicle’s finish, giving it a freshly detailed look for years. It’s also incredibly easy to maintain when cared for properly.
Self-Healing
Featuring a self-healing layer, PPF allows stone chips, scuffs, scratches, and swirls to disappear with heat—whether from hot tap water, the car’s engine, or sunlight.
Replacement
If a panel needs to be replaced, you’ll be back on the road quickly. Most panels can be swapped out in just a few hours, unlike traditional paint repairs that can take days or weeks.
Time & Convenience
With quick turnaround times, replacing a PPF panel takes just a couple of hours, saving you time compared to lengthy paint repair processes.
Cost
Designed for precise panel fitting, our PPF allows individual panel replacements without the need for extra paintwork or color blending, keeping costs low and eliminating unnecessary delays.

Aftercare & Maintenance for Paint Protection Film (PPF)
Proper aftercare is essential to maximize the lifespan and appearance of your Paint Protection Film. Follow these guidelines to keep your PPF in top condition:
1. Initial Care
– Avoid washing your vehicle for the first 7 days after installation to allow the film to cure fully.
– Do not wax or apply any coatings to the film during this time.
2. Washing
– Use a pH-neutral car shampoo and soft microfiber wash mitts to clean your vehicle.
– Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive sponges, or brushes that could damage the film.
– Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap and contaminants.
3. Drying
– Dry the vehicle with a clean microfiber towel or a dedicated air dryer to prevent water spots. Avoid dragging towels across the surface.
4. Waxing & Coating
– Use PPF-safe waxes or ceramic coatings designed for use on urethane films to enhance protection and gloss.
– Avoid products containing dyes, abrasive compounds, or petroleum distillates.
5. Contaminant Removal
– For stubborn contaminants like bird droppings, tree sap, or bug splatter, clean the area immediately using PPF-safe cleaners.
– Gently lift debris with a microfibre towel; avoid scrubbing to prevent surface damage.
6. Self-Healing Maintenance
– For minor swirl marks or scratches, park the vehicle in the sun or use warm water to activate the self-healing properties of the film.
7. Avoid High-Risk Practices
– Refrain from using pressure washers too close to the edges of the film. Maintain at least 12 inches of distance and use a wide-angle spray.
– Do not polish or buff the film, as this can damage its clear coat.
8. Regular Inspections
– Inspect the film periodically for lifting or wear. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage.
9. Professional Maintenance
– Schedule regular professional cleanings or inspections with Flexi Valets to ensure your PPF continues to perform at its best.
By following these steps, your PPF will continue to protect and enhance your vehicle’s finish for years to come. For any specific concerns or product recommendations, contact the Flexi Valets team.
Please note, the warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents, collisions, intentional misuse, normal wear and tear, or the use of unapproved products or cleaners on the film.
